CLOUD FOREST HIKE
Juan Castro Blanco National Park located one hour and thirty minutes from La Fortuna is an excellent choice for nature lovers who like hiking . With an elevation of over 1500mts height above sea level, the park offers very rustic trails within a cloud forest with cold weather and unique species of plants and animals. The park is a large water reservoir that supplies this precious liquid to surrounding towns. Here we find also the Green-eyed Frog , which had disappeared for several years and reappeared in puddles and ponds of the park. During the tour you can also see interesting bird species such as Black Guan , Red Headed Barbet , Prong-billed Barbet, Slate-throated Red star, Log-tailed Silky Flycatcher and occasionally the Resplendent Quetzal .
